Hexanaut.io is an online multiplayer territory control game where players compete to capture as much of the map as possible by claiming hexagonal tiles. You start with a small area and expand by venturing out and drawing loops around new territory.

The goal is to control 20% of the map to become a Hexanaut, then hold that area for two minutes to win. But be careful—while outside your territory, your trail is vulnerable, and another player can eliminate you by crossing it.

The game is free to play and requires no download or signup. Matches are live, pitting you against real players from around the world in a fast-paced battle for map control.

How to Play Hexanaut.io

Use your mouse to move your character. Leave your base to start claiming land. As soon as you exit your territory, a trail appears behind you. Loop around empty tiles and return to your base to claim the enclosed area. Once the loop is complete, the entire region becomes yours. If another player crosses your trail before you return, you are eliminated and must start over. Capture 20% of the map to become a Hexanaut, then hold it for two minutes to win.

Tips for Hexanaut.io

Play defensively at first: build a solid base before taking risks. Always watch nearby players and retreat if someone approaches your trail. Cut off other players strategically by intersecting their trails. Focus on claiming central areas for expansion. Once you become a Hexanaut, prioritize defense—don't overextend, and patrol your borders to eliminate intruders.
