About Impostor

Impostor is a tense multiplayer social deduction game set aboard a damaged spaceship. Each round, players are secretly assigned roles: most become crewmates tasked with completing repairs, while a few are impostors whose goal is to eliminate everyone without being caught.

The core loop revolves around suspicion and deception. Crewmates rush to fix machinery across the map, while impostors blend in by faking tasks, using ventilation shafts to move unseen, and striking when isolated. When a body is found or a meeting is called, players discuss evidence and vote to eject suspected killers.

Winning as a crewmate requires sharp observation and communication, while impostors must lie convincingly and manipulate the group. The game shines in its psychological depth, as every action and word can be scrutinized.

With rounds lasting only 5-15 minutes, Impostor is easy to pick up but hard to master. It is best enjoyed with a group of friends or in online lobbies where mind games thrive.

How to Play Impostor

At the start of each round, you are assigned as a crewmate or an impostor. Crewmates complete tasks listed on the map to fill the progress bar and win. Impostors must eliminate enough crewmates to gain majority or trigger critical sabotages. Use movement keys to navigate, interact with objects to perform tasks, and call emergency meetings to discuss suspicious behavior. Communicate with other players to deduce who the impostors are and vote them out.

Tips for Impostor

As an impostor, fake tasks by standing near panels for a realistic duration. Use sabotage to split the crew and create isolated targets. Move through vents to escape crime scenes. In meetings, stay calm and avoid aggressive defense; overreacting often draws suspicion. As a crewmate, stick with groups, memorize task locations, and note who seems to wander without purpose.
