About Geoguessr

GeoGuessr drops you into a random panoramic scene somewhere on Earth. You can look around in every direction, zoom in on details, and search for clues like road markings, vegetation, architecture, and language on signs. The goal is simple: figure out where you are and place a marker on the world map.

Every round is a blend of observation and deduction. You'll need to interpret shadows for latitude, recognize driving side and infrastructure for country, and spot regional differences in landscape. It's a geography challenge that rewards both travel experience and sharp attention to detail.

The game offers different modes to keep the pressure on. In classic rounds you can take your time, but competitive formats like Battle Royale and streak challenges force faster decisions. Each match feels like a living puzzle, and the distance between your guess and the true location determines your score.

Whether you're a casual explorer or a geography enthusiast, GeoGuessr provides endless replay value. The world is vast, and every drop is a new opportunity to test your memory, logic, and sense of place.

How to Play Geoguessr

You begin each round in a random Street View location. Look around freely using your mouse to survey the surroundings. Search for identifiable clues: road signs, language, vegetation, architecture, driving side, and even the position of the sun. Once you have a hypothesis, open the in-game world map and click to place your marker. After confirming, the game reveals the actual location and calculates a score based on how far your guess was. The closer you are, the more points you earn.

Tips for Geoguessr

Pay attention to road lines and signage—they often reveal the country or region. Check which side of the road vehicles drive on. Look at the sun's position to estimate latitude. Zoom in on text and license plates, but don't rely on a single clue. In timed modes, make a quick regional guess rather than spending too long on one spot.
