Gearshift One takes you on a car journey across a large open universe. Your aim is to drive, build, and test all aspects of your automobiles. Pick from five legendary cars: the Honda NSX Amiga, the Mini Cooper JCW GP, the Porsche 718 Cayman, the Bugatti Chiron Sport, or a giant monster truck.

At the start, players take the wheel and hit the track. The major objectives are to speed, maintain the straight line, and negotiate turns accurately. You must monitor the road ahead so you can react in time to change speed or steering. Taking turns too quickly can lead to a loss of control; blending speed and finesse is essential.

The game is very challenging in several ways, including speed and control of the car. You can accelerate on straightaways and brake on curves. Minimizing accidents is critical—a little mistake might cost you precious time or a good place. Players need fast reactions and must learn the controls better as they go along.
